Standing In The Forest
Standing in the forest
Waiting here to share
Some ageless weary rhyme
That finally arrived to catch
The fullness of its time,
I think of you.
Standing in the forest
Creating words that barely
Cross the ear with any sound
Patiently compounding thoughts
I rarely let escape the bounds
That wrap around my life,
I think of you.
Standing in the forest
Looking down at hands
Cupped lightly round my heart
I find a centered place
Where all the separate parts
Of me converge,
I turn,
And I am face to face with you.
